Meet the team

  • Naveed has deep expertise growing healthcare start-ups and medical groups, specifically using value-based care models. Through this work he has negotiated over $1.5B of global risk contracts and transitioned over 100K lives from FFS to value at organizations like Optum, DaVita, and several VC-backed start-ups. Naveed began his consulting career at Bain & Company. Prior to that he assisted on public health research in sub-saharan Africa that recently won the Nobel Prize.

He graduated with high honors studying math and physics at the University of California, Berkeley. He now lives in Berkeley with his wife and two kids.

  • Richard brings his breadth of healthcare experience, entrepreneurial skillset, and get-things-done attitude to VBCP.

His passion for healthcare is rooted in an innate desire to help people and to create a more just society - through learning, innovation, and connection.

He began his career supporting innovative technology pilots in large health systems at Augmedix, before supporting special projects at DaVita’s medical group (prior to and during their acquisition by United / Optum).

He also sits on the boards of For A Reason, an international education-focused non-profit, and the Robert Day Scholars Program at Claremont McKenna College (where he graduated with honors and studied Philosophy and Economics).

Outside work, Richard enjoys traveling, spending quality time with family, cycling, writing and playing music, and perfecting his chocolate chip cookie recipe.
